How to find and register for a prerelease near you

Open the official Event Locator and search near your location for Pokémon TCG prerelease events. Contact the organizer to check seats and book through its listed registration method.

• Confirm the venue, date, local start time and check-in deadline.
• Check whether entry is online, prepaid in-store or walk-in. Ask about a waitlist if the session is full.
• Check the total fee, included kit, participation packs and cancellation terms.
• Have your Pokémon Player ID ready if required. For children, ask about age and guardian arrangements.

What does entry cost? A real store example

Entry fees vary by store. Compare what the ticket includes; a standalone box price does not include a place at an event.

Paradox Comics-N-Cards in Fargo, North Dakota lists an October 24 session from noon to 4 p.m. for $24.99, including a Build & Battle Kit and three additional packs. It requires prepaid in-store registration with a Pokémon ID, caps seating at 35 and asks players to arrive 15 minutes early. These terms were checked September 27; contact the store for remaining seats.

Build & Battle contents, promos and participation packs

Play! Pokémon's general kit guidance describes a Build & Battle Box with a ready-to-play 40-card deck, one of four alternate-art promos, four boosters and a deck-building tip sheet. That is the program format; it does not identify Delta Reign's four promo cards.

Players who complete the event receive three additional participation boosters under the general program guidance. Ask the organizer about any extra prizes. A standalone box purchase does not include those event packs.

As of September 27, we have not verified Delta Reign's prerelease promo lineup from an official set-specific source. An ETB promo announcement does not identify the prerelease cards, and a kit does not let you choose a particular promo.

Buying Delta Reign beyond the prerelease?

Your local store handles event registration. For ETBs and other sealed products to open at home, use the Delta Reign release guide to choose a format and check its release date. HOC membership helps with retail drops through Pokémon alerts, retailer guidance and staff support in Discord.

What to bring to your first event

Ask the organizer what it supplies, then pack a small kit that lets you play and carry your cards home comfortably.

You do not need to buy a constructed deck beforehand. Tell staff it is your first event and ask about basic Energy, deck-building help and rules questions. Keep cards brought from home separate from your event cards.

• Your booking confirmation and requested player details.
• Enough matching sleeves for a 40-card deck, with a few spares; a deck box or other secure card storage.
• Damage counters, a coin or approved randomizer, and condition markers. Ask about loaners if you are new.
• An optional playmat and a bag for your cards.

How the prerelease games work

Pokémon's physical prerelease explanation uses a 40-card deck and four Prize cards, rather than the usual 60-card deck and six Prizes. Your kit provides a starting deck; the boosters give you options to adjust it using the event's permitted card pool.

Wait for staff instructions before opening your kit. Follow the announced deck-building time and round structure, and ask for help with unfamiliar cards. If you need to leave early, check how that affects participation packs.
